Unplug. Create. Connect.

Hosted by Lily Mulholland
Bara Skriv—Swedish for “just write”—writing retreats are hosted by writer and creative facilitator Lily Mulholland. Born from a desire to offer writers a quiet, grounded space away from everyday demands, Bara Skriv retreats are designed to nourish creativity through stillness, structure, and supportive community.
Set in beautiful regional locations in Australia (and planned for Sweden and France starting 2027), each retreat balances writing time with shared meals, optional game nights, and moments for reflection. Whether you’re deep in a manuscript, exploring new ideas, or simply needing time to reconnect with your voice, Bara Skriv provides an environment where your writing comes first.
Lily brings her background in writing, critiquing, and creative practice to each retreat, creating an atmosphere that is gentle, inclusive, and free of pressure. You won’t find rigid schedules or forced activities here—just space, encouragement, and the permission to do what writers so often need most: to slow down, and just write.
Bara Skriv welcomes writers of all genres and stages—from beginners to published authors—who are seeking time, clarity, and connection through their creative work.
[Bara skriv is pronounced “borah skreev”, or so the Swedish tell me!]
